your story matters.
how you tell it matters even more.

You've typed the final sentence and the relief is so overwhelming you don't know whether to dance around the lounge room, burst into tears, open a bottle of something bubbly, or sit there in stunned silence wondering what on earth you're supposed to do next.

Whether it's a scrappy first draft or as polished as you can make it on your own, this is where it becomes a book that actually matters.

Because there comes a point where you need experienced eyes on the page.

And this isn't just any document.

It's the long nights you poured your heart and soul into its creation.

The crumbs on your keyboard.

The chapters that flowed effortlessly, and the endless hours you sat there staring at a blinking cursor wondering why you ever thought writing a book was a good idea, or whether anyone would ever read it anyway.

Somehow you turned an idea into tens of thousands of words, wrestled with self-doubt, distractions, life, responsibilities, and every other reason not to do it.

You're not handing that manuscript over to just anyone. And nor should you.

The editing process should be just as inspired and obsessive as the writing was.

For me, it is.

Because a good edit doesn't rewrite your voice, it reveals it.

When you allow a highly experienced editor into your story, they can see the parts you’re too close to see clearly. The result is a manuscript that's clearer, stronger, and far more compelling, while still sounding unmistakably like you… and a book that delivers the impact you intended when you first sat down to write it.

Being a first-time author, I had no idea what was involved in bringing my book to life… but Sally certainly did!

From the moment my heart said ‘yes’ to working with her… the magic began.

Sally possesses a unique ability to capture the true essence, heart and soul of your writing rather than simply putting words on a page. Her extraordinary insight and intuition helped me to see parts of my story I couldn’t, particularly as my book is a deeply personal memoir. She clearly saw and shared my vision, then wholeheartedly ran with it all the way to the finish line.

Writing this book was a healing journey in and of itself and I’ll forever be grateful to Sally for walking beside me. Together we transformed my manuscript from a rustic stack of papers to a stunning masterpiece.

- Kristen Louise

I have had Sally be my editing genius twice now on two books.. I completely trust her with my work! I’m glad I found her from the beginning of my author journey, I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

- Kasey Griffith

I can't even begin to describe the feeling of the moment I got to hold my actual book in my hands for the first time. I think the smile on my face says it all.

Thank you SJ  this moment would not have been possible without you and your beautiful and aligned guidance. I feel so privileged to have you walk with me through this process. You truly are an angel

- Jo Gaddes

I wholeheartedly LOVED my entire experience when working with Sally editing my book. Her professionalism, encouragement, and guidance from the heart was so valuable to me.

I feel she went above and beyond to understand and honour my process. Thank you so much beautiful one.

A Note on AI

More writers (and business owners wanting to write a book) are using AI to brainstorm, organise ideas or get unstuck, and it's not going anywhere.

Nor is the next level squabbling in editor groups... but I digress…

I've personally seen AI in some of the manuscripts I receive (yes... including the occasional forgotten prompt ).

I'm finding myself helping authors recover the voice that got blurred somewhere between the prompt and the page.

Because AI can absolutely help you organise your thoughts, suggest a structure, untangle a messy paragraph, or even find the word that's sitting on the tip of your tongue.

What it can't do is tell your story, your way.

It can't replace your lived experience, your perspective, your humour, or the weird little ways you explain things that make people think, "Yep... that's exactly how she'd say it."

Because in a world where everyone is outsourcing their identity to AI
your real voice is the most disruptive thing you own.

And the more AI-assisted writing I edit, the more convinced of this I become.

So let's make sure your real voice never gets edited out.

Working with Sally J has been an extraordinary experience. The breadth and depth of her expertise and professionalism, combined with her heart and soul, are unparalleled to any other editor I’ve ever worked with.

Her keen eye for editing is a beautiful thing, however, beyond that, her ability to embody and express any writer’s words as if they were her own is a unique talent! She was always on time and on point.

- Lynn Denise

Sally is an incredibly talented literary wizard who helped me bring my first published book, "The Day the Cancer Quit," from unpolished to highly refined. I would recommend her editing skills as a 10/10.

It was an empowering experience. Sally's talent in making individuals feel comfortable, as well as bring out the absolute best in them, is one that should be shared with the world.

Smaller Projects

You know exactly what you want to say, but writing it down just doesn't seem to articulate the passion, expertise & brilliance you bring to the table.

You've got the basics of your blurb, bio, program, opt-in, guest blog, magazine article, ebook, or whatever lusciousness you're creating, but you know it can be better.

There's a science to writing that's clear, concise & purposeful. And articulating it in a way that inspires aligned action (this is especially important for blurbs, book descriptions & lead gens, which are essentially sales copy).

Set rates apply for under 10k words, under 5k words, 500-1k words, and under 500 words.

Just message the details and we’ll get started!

Sally’s impeccable words have been an asset to my business. She has helped me create ads that sell without the sleaze, and an EPIC bio that I use to introduce myself for every podcast and speaking event I do!

She really gets to the heart of who I am and what I do, and conveys exactly the message I want but didn’t know how to say.

Thank you for your talent and passion, it’s helped me reach so many more people!

- Holly Loxton

OMG Sally has helped bring all my galactic wisdom into words that actually make sense to others, and still feel totally me. I don’t know how she does it, but she gets the energy behind the words  at the deepest level.

She manages to write in a way that keeps my magic yet help me get my message out to the women I’m here to serve. And now we’re bringing my book to life, I’d be lost without her!

Words... my thing

Writing... my therapist

Chocolate... my drug of choice

Stories that shape the world... my f*cking obsession

I’m the woman people come to when they’re done overthinking their book and ready to actually write it.

Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of writers, from first-time authors to seasoned professionals, turn scattered ideas, voice notes, and half-written drafts into books that build authority and expand their influence.

I’ve spent decades in journalism, editing, copywriting, and writing books for myself and others.

But more than that, I understand how words shape identity, not just sentences.

That’s why my work isn’t just about writing.

It’s about taking what’s in your head (often layered, complex, hard to pin down) and shaping it into something clear, structured, and powerful enough to stand on its own.

For me your book isn’t just content.

It’s the thing that gets to exist long after you stop explaining yourself.
